Punk 2761 was burned accidentally on December 17, 2021 due to pasting a malformed wallet address in the transfer field. At the time the owner stated in the Cryptopunks Discord that they had been attempting to send the punk to this account but accidentally dropped the 0 in the front and somehow added a 6 on the end. While the recipient isn’t a standard burn address, it’s a random address and the accidental result is similar to what Dmitri Cherniak intentionally did with Dead Ringers as the chance of someone ever generating the seed to this wallet is 16 to the power of 40.
